Who we work with around Nottingham

Nottingham has a dense mix of the places that rely on lifts and lifting equipment: city-centre offices and retail, hospitals and clinics, university and college buildings, residential blocks, hotels, garages and the warehouses and factories on the industrial estates around the city. We examine equipment for managing agents, care homes, schools, garages, and warehouse and manufacturing sites, from a single lift to a whole portfolio.

How it works

  1. Tell us what you have. The number and type of items, where they are and when each was last examined.

  2. We send a quote, usually within 24 hours. Once agreed, it's fixed for all your ongoing examinations.

  3. We examine at a time to suit you, to keep disruption to your business low.

  4. You get a written report for every item. It states whether the item is safe to keep using, lists any defects with a date to put each one right, and gives the date the next examination is due. We then contact you before each one falls due. See what one looks like on our sample report page.

Who checks you're complying

Depending on your premises, the enforcing authority for health and safety is either HSE or your local council's environmental health team. In Nottingham that's Nottingham City Council, or the borough council for areas such as Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe. Either can ask to see your examination reports, so keeping them current and in date order protects you.

Independent of whoever maintains your equipment

Your maintenance contractor or equipment supplier keeps your equipment running. A thorough examination is a separate legal check. HSE guidance says the examiner should be sufficiently independent and impartial, so they aren't signing off their own work. PULO doesn't maintain or repair equipment. We examine it. Read why independent examination matters.

Every PULO examination is carried out and signed by an experienced engineer, led by Ryan Leavesley MSOE MBES, an engineer surveyor with over fourteen years' experience of examining lifts in Nottingham. PULO is ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certified, CHAS Advanced accredited and an INITA member. You deal directly with the engineer who examines your equipment.

Where we cover

We're based in Nottingham, so the city and county are our home patch. That includes the city centre, West Bridgford, Beeston, Arnold, Carlton, Clifton, Hucknall and Long Eaton, and the county towns of Mansfield and Newark. We also regularly cover Derby, Leicester, Loughborough and Lincoln, and we travel anywhere in the UK. That suits clients with sites in several places who want one examiner for all of them.

Tell us what you have, where it is and when it was last examined, and we'll come back with a quote.
